Beauceron Pictures

In Beauceron pictures, you’ll see a strong and well-balanced dog about the size of an average Doberman Pinscher. The height of purebred Beauceron dogs varies between 24 and 27 inches at the withers. The average weight of these dogs is about 100 pounds. The coat of the Beauceron dog is short with fringes on the hind legs and tail. The guard hair is harsh and straight; the undercoat is wooly and fluffy. This breed comes in two basic coat patterns: black with tan markings around the eyes, on the throat, bottom, breast, legs and under the tail; and harlequin with black, tan, and gray patches all around the body. White is not accepted in the coat of these dogs at all.

In some Beauceron pictures, you can see that these dogs have six toes on their rear feet. In fact, Beauceron dogs have a double dewclaw, which should not be removed in show dogs. This feature proves that the dog is purebred. In show dogs, ears are cropped to stand erect. Natural ears of the Beauceron dog are half-pricked. The eyes of these dogs should be dark chestnut, with an intelligent and serious expression.

Many Beauceron pictures feature these dogs performing their original task, i.e. herding the cattle. Beauceron dogs also make good guards and watchdogs. They are brave, alert, intelligent, calm, loyal, and faithful. Being responsive to training and eager to please the master, this breed is excellent in obedience. As family pets, these dogs are very protective, trustworthy, friendly, and obedient. They instinctively herd children and smaller pets. This breed is very hardy, endurable, and agile. The only serious health concern with this breed is hip and elbow dysplasia.

Beauceron dogs cannot do without much exercise in the open. A job to do and enough space to burn off the dog’s energy are absolutely necessary for a Beauceron. A cottage with a large yard is ideal for keeping a Beauceron dog, though it can be kept in an apartment. Regular long walks and training sessions help keep the dog fit and form close bonds with the owner. In many Beauceron pictures, you can see these intelligent creatures playing with their owners.
